Quick Key allows you to use your existing tests that are in PDF or Word format. This is a great way to use Naiku with your very own existing tests.
Previously with Quick Key, when you uploaded your test in PDF or Word format, you still had to print out the test for the students. So students would read the test on the paper and respond digitally in Naiku.
Now, you have the option to show the PDF or Word version of your test to the students. So you no longer have to print out paper copies of the test. Students will be able to see the PDF or Word document of the test directly in Naiku. Note that this only available on non-mobile devices.
When you create your Quick Key assessment and upload your PDF or Word test file, you'll now see a check box to "Display to students". If you check this box, the PDF or Word file will be shown to students when they take the test. Note that when you are displaying the PDF or Word file of the test, students will have the option to download or save that file. This is a typical feature in most (all) browsers. If you don't want students to be able to download or save the test, please do not select the box to display to students.
When students take the test on a computer, laptop, iPad, or any non-mobile device (i.e., phone-size device), they will see the PDF or Word document of the test on the left-hand side of the screen. The question number and the response to each question will be on the right side. If your test is long (i.e., multiple pages), students will be able to scroll through the file. With this version of Quick Key, students will still be able to flag a question for review, rate their confidence on each question, and you'll still get all the great benefits of automatic scoring and reporting by standards.
We hope you enjoy this new Quick Key feature.
