PowerSchool SSO and Gradebook Export

Last Updated: Jul 15, 2016 02:35PM CDT
Naiku's continuing partnership with PowerSchool has allowed Naiku to take advantage of a SSO feature and direct gradebook sync for PowerSchool users. Here's how to take advantage of these awesome new features:

SSO (Single Sign On)
Start by signing on to your PowerSchool account. Once logged in, click the "Applications" button in the top right corner of the PowerSchool page (shown below). Now you will see a list of applications. Simply select Naiku and a second tab will automatically open, directing you to your Naiku page.

PowerSchool Gradebook Sync
To export grades from Naiku to your PowerTeacher gradebook, start by navigating to the class results page for that particular assessment. Once viewing the class results page, hover over actions and select "Export/Gradebook." At this point, you can choose to select individual students to sync the grade for or simply select "Export All" to sync all of the grades for that assignment. Once the grades have been synced, you will see check marks, indicating a successful sync (shown below).

Now that you have exported the grades from Naiku, it's time to jump over to your PowerTeacher Gradebook. You may not see the assessment in your gradebook initially depending on if your gradebook was open or closed at the time of the sync. If you are not seeing the assessment, in your gradebook, simply click "File" and then "Refresh Student Info." Your gradebook will now update and your assessment that was exported from Naiku will be visible in your gradebook!

When you export your grades from Naiku to PowerTeacher, you will notice that the assignment is created in your gradebook, but it is not counted into your final grade (the assignment shows up light grey). To add these assignments to your final grade, right click on the assignment and select "Show Details." The details for this assignement will appear in the bottom of your gradebook (shown below). Select the "Publish" tab, and in the 'Publish Assignment' drop down menu, select 'Immediatly.' Now, switch back over to the assignment tab and check the box for 'Include in Final Grade.' Finally, click save and your assignment will be included in your final grade.
